Czech prosecutors seek parliament's approval to charge former PM

Czech prosecutors have asked the lower house of parliament to lift the immunity of former Prime Minister Petr Necas to allow for his criminal prosecution, a parliament spokeswoman said on Monday.

Necas resigned as prime minister last month after his close aide was charged with bribery and abuse of office but he remains a member of parliament and is covered by parliamentary immunity.
