UN says it will correct wrongdoing in Darfur force
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon says he is determined to correct any wrongdoing with regard to allegations that U.N. peacekeeping force in Sudan's Darfur region has failed to protect civilians and has inaccurately reported facts on the ground among other things.

U.N. Spokesman Stephane Dujarric on Wednesday did not specify the origin of these allegations. But similar changes had been made by a former spokesman for the peacekeeping mission and published in Foreign Policy magazine. The Security Council in April ordered a review of the peacekeeping mission, which also has been criticized for underperformance.

Darfur has been chaotic since 2003, when rebels took up arms against the government in Khartoum, accusing it of discrimination and neglect.
