Berlin wants to avoid “dangerous confrontation” at UN
The spokesman for the German cabinet Steffen Seibert said that his country is seeking to avoid “a dangerous confrontation” at the U.N. this week, at a time when the Palestinians are moving forward in their bid for a Palestinian state membership at the U.N. General Assembly.

“Germany’s goal is to avoid confrontation in New York for it may lead to unimaginable repercussions on peace and stability in the Middle East”, Seibert said.

Seibert stressed the necessity to resume peace talks, hoping that they lead to a two-state solution.
