NTC: Pro-Gaddafi figures flee towards Niger
Libya’s National Transitional Council (NTC) military spokesperson Ahmad Bani said that a number of prominent figures affiliated with the regime of embattled Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi fled the village of Sabha south of West Tripoli towards Niger after rebels took over Sabha.

During a press conference, Bani said that the rebels controlled Sabha with a few remaining pockets of resistance and snipers who are fighting for self-preservation rather than for the preservation of Gaddafi’s regime.

“All the villages near Sabha, once considered impenetrable to anti-Gaddafi forces, have been liberated”, Bani said.

Bani added that more than 90% of villages in southern Libya have been liberated, urging the resident of the southern regions to take part in the fight against Gaddafi’s troops.
