Veiled anchorwomen, a new form of discrimination in Egypt
It seems that with the election of Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi, change on more than one scene followed.               

The first veiled woman has taken to the Egyptian marking the demise of an era that lasted for half a century and the emergence of another.                          

With this change a debate also arose between those who consider that an end to discrimination was put and others who consider that new standards for discrimination are being set by rule of the Muslim Brotherhood.                     

Within this framework, anchorwoman Nermin Anwar pointed out that the return of veiled female anchors is similar to the return of a "stolen right".                 

In contrast, journalist Farida al-Shoubani considered that this is a new standard for differentiation; a discrimination between the veiled anchorwoman and her unveiled or Coptic counterpart.
