French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Derian said that it was likely to get African military intervention in Mali within a few weeks t"o deal with what has turned into a terrorist haven."               

Through "France 2 television" Derian stressed that this intervention may manifest in a matter of weeks, not a matter of months, indicating that the Sahel region has "turned into a terrorist stronghold since the spring.”
