Assad issues a decree to establish Higher Elections Committee
Syrian President Bashar Assad issued a decree that will allow the establishment of the Higher Elections Committee, on Wednesday.

The decree stipulates that the committee will encompass judge Khalaf al-Azzawi, Mohammed Hayder al-Jaddi, Mohammad Anis Suleiman and Hasna al-Asswad, all advisors to the Court of Cassation. A number of reserve judges will also be members of the committee such as: Antoine Filo, Ahmad Armouch, Abdo Chahla, Hicham Al Chaar and Hicham Zaza, all advisors to the Court of Cassation.
