Iran hangs up on U.S. hotline
Iranian Defense Minister General Ahmad Vahidi rejected the idea proposed by U.S. military officials regarding the establishment of a hotline between Iran and the U.S. to avoid unwanted military stand-offs in the Gulf.

“We do not need such a communication line in the region”, Vahidi said.

Vahidi stressed that the United States considers that a hotline is necessary to settle any potential tensions, while Iran believes that if the U.S. leaves the region, then there will be no tension.
