The Armenian Ministry of Defense announced on Friday the killing of two soldiers and the injury of a third by Azerbaijani fire near the border between the two countries, amidst escalating tensions related to the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh. The ministry stated in a release, "Two soldiers fell in battle, and another was injured by Azerbaijani army gunfire in Armenian front-line positions near Sotk, in southeastern Armenia." AFP
