US President Joe Biden, in a phone call, requested a temporary cessation of hostilities in Gaza from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Vice President Kamala Harris, in a conversation with Isaac Herzog, emphasized the importance of protecting civilians and respecting international humanitarian law, as per the White House's statement.

Harris also stressed the need to expedite aid delivery to Gaza and hold settlers responsible for acts of violence in the West Bank.
