Shoigu to Iranian counterpart: Moscow ready to strengthen military cooperation with Tehran

The Russian news agency reported that Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu told his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Reza Ashtiani during a meeting on Friday that Russia is ready to expand military and technical cooperation with Iran.

The agency added that Shoigu said communications between the military departments of the two countries have increased significantly in recent times.

The ministers are participating in a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Kazakhstan.
