Beijing says it 'issued a warning' to US military ship in South China Sea

China stated on Friday that it tracked a US Navy ship near the Paracel Islands in disputed waters of the South China Sea and issued it a warning.

A military spokesperson said in a statement that China "dispatched naval and air forces to track and monitor the ship according to laws and regulations and issued a warning to prompt its departure."
