Ankara and Teheran to fight PKK together

Turkish foreign minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that Turkey and Iran will collaborate under “a common action plan” to fight the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) that has rear bases in Northern Iraq and that is threatening the security of both countries.

“If we fight the PKK and the Free Life Party (PJAK) together, our fight will be stronger”, Davutoglu said during a press conference he held in Ankara with his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salihi.

“We will keep working together under a common action plan until we eliminate this terrorist threat”, he added.

For his part, Salihi said that what affects Turkey affects his country as well, and vice versa.
