Xi tells Trump: China and US must 'get along in new era'

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday told U.S. President-elect Donald Trump that their two countries must "get along" and "strengthen dialogue," state media said.

"Xi Jinping pointed out that history has shown that China and the United States benefit from cooperation and suffer from confrontation," state broadcaster CCTV said in a readout of the message, calling for a "stable, healthy, and sustainable China-US relationship."
