French FM says France will support political transition process in Syria

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said on Monday that France will support Syria's political transition after the fall of President Bashar al-Assad's regime and will send a special diplomatic envoy to the country in the coming days.

Barrot added in an interview with France Info radio that what has happened in Syria represents a stunning defeat for Russia, as Moscow may now lose access to its military assets in Syria.
