567 people arrested during Kenya protests: Police statement

More than 500 people were arrested during protests in Kenya on Monday, the national police service (NPS) reported.

Spokesperson Michael Muchiri said that during the demonstrations, "certain individuals remained determined to engage in acts of lawlessness that involved multiple criminal acts," including looting and attacks on officers, with force making a total of 567 arrests.

He did not provide further details but added that each reported incident would be subjected to "further investigation."
