Thousand protests in Jordan calling on government to make reforms

      
Around a thousand anti-government protesters took to the streets of Jordan's capital Amman after prayers on Friday calling for reforms.  

Protesters chanted anti-regime slogans and held banners against corruption.               

"We say to them (Jordanian regime), start from today and call for reform. Work with us to achieve reform, to avoid Jordan entering into a dark tunnel that would effect everyone including the head of the regime," said one protesters, Mohammad al-Hout.          

Zaki Ben Rashid, Deputy General Secretary of the Muslim Brotherhood who also attended the protest, said he condemned the deployment of American troops in Jordan.           

"America wants to paint a new Middle East, keeping American forces in Jordan with an aim to defend the security of the Israel entity and not to protect Jordan. We don't want to be followers of America," Rashid said.
