REPORT: Security forces continue their deployment in Beirut's Dahiyeh region

Security forces continued on Tuesday their deployment in Beirut's Southern Suburbs [Dahiyeh] region.

In this regard, Internal Security Forces and Lebanese Armed Forces checkpoints were set up in various regions of Dahiyeh, as LAF troops took control over several entrances of the suburbs.

In the same context, a joint operation room was set for cooperation between the security forces.

Later in the day, the Director General of General Security Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim toured in Beirut’s Dahiyeh to inspect the situation of security checkpoints set up across the region.

Security forces began their deployment on Monday the 23rd of September in Beirut's southern suburbs Dahiyeh region.

A task force which includes 100 General Security members, 300 soldiers and 400 Internal Security Forces members started taking over Hezbollah checkpoints in the region.

The step aims at ending Hezbollah's self imposed security policy that was put in force by the party following two deadly explosions that targeted its stronghold in the suburbs.
