Calm is prevailing in southern border villages of the western sector following a night of Israeli hostilities on South Lebanon which lasted until dawn on Sunday, the state-run National News Agency reported.
This comes after three rockets were fired on the Nahariya settlement in Western Galilee inside the occupied Palestinian territories.
Also on Sunday, members of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and Lebanese Armed Forces troops conducted joint patrols along the coastal line from Rass Al Ayn towards Naqoura.
UNIFL and LAF soldiers also conducted patrols along the Blue Line between the western and middle sectors.
Earlier in the day, Israeli warplanes flew at medium altitude above Bint Jbeil, Marjayoun and Hassbaya.
In the same regard, it was revealed that one of the rockets that were launched yesterday from Lebanon hit an Israeli house, causing heavy material damages.
Shelters:
Israel decided on Sunday to open shelters in towns near the Lebanese border after three rockets, launched from the Lebanese side, targeted Israel on Saturday.
In this context, officials in Israeli northern towns asked the Israeli military and government to order the swift establishment of several Iron Dome systems to secure their safety.
Hamas:
The Palestinian group Hamas had no role in a rocket attack on Israel from Lebanon and had nothing to do with a statement in the name of its armed wing that claimed responsibility for the attack late on Saturday, Hamas officials in Lebanon said.
Two Hamas officials in Lebanon said the group was not behind the rockets fired from Lebanon.
Asked about a claim of responsibility issued in the name of the Izz el-Deen al-Qassam Brigades - the Hamas armed wing - Hamas official Osama Hamdan said: "We denied it and said Hamas had nothing to do with this statement."
The claim of responsibility had been circulated in a text message received by journalists in Gaza, the way the Izz el-Deen al-Qassam Brigades often makes such announcements.
A Lebanese security official said investigators had yet to determine who fired the rockets. The main Palestinian factions in Lebanon had told the investigators they were not involved in the attack, the official said.
In its first statement since the eruption of the latest hostilities, the powerful Lebanese group Hezbollah praised Hamas and Islamic Jihad and said it backed the Palestinian "resistance in its goals and steps".
