UAE urge citizens not to travel to Lebanon

The United Arab Emirates' foreign ministry called on UAE nationals on Sunday not to travel to Lebanon given the situation taking place in the region, mainly in Lebanon.

The Ministry issued a statement whereby it announced that the persons who carry diplomatic and special passports must be given a prior approval from the foreign ministry should they intend to travel for imperative reasons.

On May 19, 2012, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar's foreign ministries called on their citizens not to travel to Lebanon in light of the deteriorating security situation there.

The UAE and Qatar also urged their citizens that are present in Lebanon to return to their country. The UAE asked its citizens in Lebanon to contact the country’s embassy in Beirut on the number 009611857000 in case they want to stay there for imperative reasons.
