UN Chief: Iran should prove “peaceful” nature of nuclear program
U.N. Chief Ban Ki-Moon called for easing tensions between Iran and the west, stressing that Tehran must prove the peaceful nature of its nuclear program.

Ban Ki-Moon voiced concerns over the IAEA report, released in December, which underscored a probable military dimension to the nuclear drive.

As for the Syrian issue, the U.N. chief condemned the bombings, extending his condolences to the families of the victims and saying, "all violence is unacceptable and must stop."

Diplomatic sources in New York reported that Ban Ki-moon will visit the Palestinian territories and Israel at the end of January or early February.
