Turkey's top court says coup plot convictions violated army officers' rights
Turkey's top court said on Wednesday the rights of 230 military officers sentenced in September 2012 in the "Sledgehammer" coup plot case had been violated, paving the way for a possible retrial, NTV television reported.

Military commanders were accused of trying to destabilize Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan's government in the wake of 2002 elections with plans to bomb mosques and trigger a conflict with Greece to pave the way for a military takeover.
