Geagea: Lebanese Forces had to carry weapons when war was imposed on Lebanon

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said that the Lebanese people, who sacrificed for the sake of freedom, respect the sacrifices and struggle of the Kurds in Iraq. He added that Christians in Lebanon sympathize with their brothers in Iraq who refused to leave their land, longing for a freer and more democratic Iraq.

During a popular meeting organized by the Chaldean Cultural Society on the second day of his visit to the province of Kurdistan, Geagea said that the Lebanese Forces had to carry weapons when war was imposed on Lebanon.

“The Lebanese Forces today are a lot stronger, for what matters is the political power, not the military power”, he said.

Geagea added that, unlike some allegations, there is no plan to evacuate the Middle East from its Christians for only they have the power to decide.
