Council for Development and Reconstruction inspects Jal El Dib Bridge
Engineer Elie Helou was sent to inspect Jal El Dib Bridge by the Council for Development and Reconstruction on Tuesday, after Minister of Public Works Ghazi Aridi said that it may collapse, calling for its immediate removal.         

After inspecting the bridge, Helou said that the bridge is stable and has been in an acceptable condition for months. He added that there is no immediate danger, but “this does not mean the bridge is in good condition.” The Mayor of Jal El Dib Edward Abu Jawdeh earlier denied rumors that the Jal El Dib Bridge has cracks.                   

Abu Jawdeh added that he is not entitled to express his opinion in this regard adding that the best reference would be the Council for Development and Reconstruction and the Ministry of Public Works.     

Interior Minister Marwan Charbel told NNA that the ministry has taken precautionary measures on Jal El Dib Bridge, banning trucks from passing over it.
