Obama defends US approach to Iran

US President Barack Obama strongly defended his administration's approach to Iran on Friday, confirming sanctions imposed on Tehran over its contentious nuclear program have created economic imbalance in the country.

“Even Tehran has acknowledged that U.S. sanctions are having an impact”, he said.

Obama stressed that he managed to mobilize China and Russia to consider what he described as unprecedented sanctions on Iran.
