Jisser says data crucial to prevent assassinations

MP Samir Jisser said it is crucial to take the information about assassination plots against politicians and security figures into consideration. "Assassination could reach everybody and may not be confined to March 14 leaders and security personnel in order to create chaos," Jisser told Voice of Lebanon.

He added that some political quarters may not hesitate to transfer the crisis from his country to Lebanon. Jisser feared that assassinations are aimed at creating tension in the country. Responding to a question, Jisser said that data communication monitors only the movement of contacts and numbers and will not reveal the contents of these calls.

The MP stressed that it is the duty of the telecom minister to provide all the data to security officials.

Jisser appreciated the stands adopted by MP Walid Jumblatt on Syria, assuring that contacts with the leader have never stopped.
