Telecommunications data and diplomatic appointments on cabinet’s agenda

The cabinet is currently holding a session at Baabda Palace chaired by President Michel Sleiman and in the presence of PM Najib Mikati and all ministers.

The cabinet will be looking into its 52-item agenda, namely the issue of telecommunications data, appointments and urgent items that need to be addressed. Prior to the session, a closed meeting between President Michel Sleiman and PM Mikati was held to discuss the overall developments.

Tourism Minister Fadi Abboud announced, before the session, that the Change and Reform bloc ministers will not agree on the appointments mentioned in the agenda, adding that they do not have anything against Mikati.

Social Affairs Minister Wael Bou Faour said that the presidency the higher commission for discipline is still up for debate.

Speaking on the telecommunications data, the National Struggle Front ministers said that security should be above all other considerations, adding “we either trust security apparatuses or we don’t”.

In regard to telecommunications data, Charbel answered saying: “Everything has its solution”. Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour answered a question on diplomatic appointments by saying: “God willing”.
