Hezbollah lost many fighters in Syria

Syrian army sources told Acharq al Awsat daily that troops from the Free Syrian Army fought against Hezbollah units in more than one region. The sources said that Hezbollah members and Iranian soldiers are increasingly active in Syria in support of pro-Assad forces.

The daily stressed that there is a lack of trust amongst the Syrian army in light of internal defections.

According to the sources, the FSA arrested Iranians and non-Iranians, refusing to say whether Hezbollah members were amongst those arrested.

The same sources stressed that Hezbollah lost many fighters during the clashes in Syria.
