Aoun: The more they wish ill upon the government, the longer it will endure
Change and Reform bloc leader MP Michel Aoun said that he wants a system for the cabinet, adding that a committee from his bloc will be formulating this law. “PM Najib Mikati must not commit the occurring violations at a time when he should be a model in terms of respecting the laws”.

Aoun said that there is no justification for bypassing the constitution regarding cabinet sessions, adding that the prime minister’s suspension of these cabinet sessions was not due to wages but to appointments.

“Last Sunday’s dialogue showed that the main source of disruption is the exercise of the executive power”, he said.

Aoun said that everyone is bound by law, wondering “How and by whom Lebanon would be governed if laws were respected?”

He called on all parties to respect their boundaries and commit to their prerogatives.

On the commemoration of Rafic Hariri’s assassination, Aoun said “May he rest in peace. While the people considered him as a martyr, his family did not and used him for electoral purposes; he was also used against us in elections. This is neither democracy nor logic.”

Aoun concluded that Labor Minister Charbel Nahas is ready to sign the transportation allowance decree since no legal reference is respecting the constitution and everyone is acting on their own whim.

Asked on the speeches of Kataeb leader Amin Gemayel and Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea who both said that the government will collapse, Aoun said “the government will not collapse soon and the more they wish ill upon it, the longer it will endure”.
