Sleiman pushes for solution for transportation allowance issue
President Michel Sleiman said on Thursday that it is not permissible to leave the transportation allowance issue unresolved.

The President's statement came before a visiting delegation from the General Labor Confederation (GLC) headed by Ghassan Ghosn.

The President also called for respecting the cabinet’s decision as he likened it to “the law”.

Sleiman confirmed that attempts to achieve political victories were doomed to be trapped within political frames.

"This [victories] shall never be achieved at the expense of the people's rights and competencies," said Sleiman.

The president held talks on Thursday with Civil Service Council Head, former Minister Khaled Kabbani over pending administrative appointments, and filling vacancies through mechanisms adopted by the cabinet.

Sleiman also tackled bilateral relations with the Jordanian Ambassador to Lebanon, Ziad Majali.
