Siniora: Statements on arming Syrian revolution are unfounded

Future bloc leader Fouad Siniora reiterated that what is applicable for the year 2011 on the financial level is also applicable for the five years preceding it. He described the latest positions in this regard as a “storm in a tea cup”.

During a press conference, Siniora said that there are two ways to solve the issue of calculations: we either ratify the budgets that were prepared and set the right spending ceilings, after which the Audit Bureau will look into the account cuts, or we raise the ceilings as applied for the 8.9 trillion LBP project.

Siniora said that any statement stipulating that arms or cash are passed over to the Syrian revolutionaries is completely unfounded. “We must keep Lebanon away from problems, not away from an Arab consensus”.
