Saarini to LBCI: We will escalate strike if government decides to keep head in the sand
The head of the Gas Station Owners Association, Sami Brax, accompanied by hundreds of fuel transporters and truck owners staged a strike on Thursday in front of the ministry of energy, demanding the inclusion of transportation rates in their salaries.

Most of the gas stations abided by the calls for a strike and stopped providing services to citizens since Wednesday night. More than 100 truck drivers parked their vehicles in front of the Ministry in Karantina, Beirut, as part of the strike.

Their action caused a heavy traffic jam.

The head of the oil tank owners Ibrahim Saarini told LBCI that they are ready to end their strike if their demands are met, adding that they are ready to take further steps if the government decided to keep its head in the sand.
