Parliament passes transportation allowance draft, reduces prison term
The parliament passed on Wednesday the draft law reducing the prison term to 9 months as well as the draft on transportation allowance as forwarded by MPs Ibrahim Kenaan and Nabil De Freij. The transportation draft also notes the suggestion proposed by MP Nabih Berri.

The parliament resumed the legislative session which adjourned two weeks ago over a lack of quorum. The session will resume discussion and approval of the remaining items on the agenda, including the draft laws relating to the distribution of textbooks free of charge, promotion of ISF investigators and other pressing drafts.

Simultaneously, Roumieh prison’s Bloc B witnessed on Wednesday a protest movement demanding the reduction of the prison sentence to 9 months. Curretntly the prisoners are being asked to end their protest after the parliament passed the draft that they have been calling for.
