Abu Faour: No room for politics in project to support poorest households
Minister of Social Affairs Wael Faour said Thusday that the main goal must be the rehabilitation of the Lebanese state’s social function. In other words, “the state must assume its responsibilities, not through occasional assistance or donations but through the rights and obligations that must be granted to all Lebanese”.

During a press conference held on the project of supporting the poorest households, Abu Faour said that the Ministry of Social Affairs concluded the first period of receiving applications and screening information. As a result, 32,000 applications were submitted by the ministry to the cabinet’s presidency.

Abu Faour stressed that the national database resulting from the first period will be submitted to the cabinet that will take a decision and approve the packet of submissions that have already been approved in general. “There is no room for politics in this project”, he said.
