REPORT: Strike held at Tripoli's harbor demanding customs agents

A demonstration was held Monday before the customs building of Tripoli's harbor against the government not appointing any customs agents, which paralyzed the harbor.

The protesters consisted of mainly sea shipping agents, entrepreneurs, employees, the Director of Tripoli’s seaport and other civil bodies who threatened to hold an open strike after ten days if no agents were appointed.

“There is only one customs agent at Tripoli’s Seaport, while Beirut’s has 24”, protesters said.
