Pharmacists sentenced to prison time
Criminal Court Judge of Beirut Ghassan el-Khoury issued three rulings against pharmacists who were charged with selling drugs in violation of Hassan Khalil’s decision, on Thursday. In fact, the sentences ranged from imprisonment, paying a fine and the having their work licenses revoked.

Health Minister Ali Hassan Khalil issued a decision between the years 2006 and 2008 to recall certain drugs.

The pharmacists who were concerned by the charges were: Mazen al-Bassat, Bassam Mashmoushi, Khalil Younes, Rania Anbar, Ali Qobeisi, Fatima Khalifeh, Samir Sayyed Hassan, Walid Awasa, Rana Makouk and Taher Daher. Dr. Jihad al-Bouchi, the owner of a drug warehouse in Achrafieh was also affected by the sentence.
