REPORT: 37th presidential election session adjourned

Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri adjourned the 37th presidential election session to the 18 of April as the quorum was not met; only 61 deputies were present.

Head of Future bloc Saad Hairir stressed that “he will continue to meet his constitutional duties until a president is elected”, pointing out that the absence of some of the deputies means there is someone aiming to obstruct the elections.

“The situation is unacceptable”, he said

“Head of Marada Movement Suleiman Frangieh is his own decision maker, I hope he would attend the upcoming presidential session”, Hariri added.
