Ethiopian women protest outside consulate after Dechasa’s death

Dozens of Ethiopian women rallied outside the Ethiopian Consulate in Lebanon where the deceased Ethiopian Alem Dechasa was beaten and abused on camera by the head of the recruiting agency.

The move was staged in protest of the negligence shown by the Ethiopian consulate vis-à-vis the call for help addressed by Alem.

The protesters called on the consulate to change its strategy of action and to provide protection for the Ethiopian diaspora.
