Geagea: Shiites will remain a main component by the rule of God, not Hezbollah

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea warned Saturday against the continuation of the current bad economic situation, stressing that “the parties currently forming the government have nothing to do with the authority or the state.” He added that some of them have political projects that have nothing to do with Lebanon.

During a dinner banquet, Geagea said that weapons do not give Shiites an advanced position in Lebanon considering the fact they have a privileged position through their diligent work on the political scene. He added that weapons have never given a privileged position to any religion or group in this country.

“Shiites constitute an essential component of Lebanon; they will remain so by the rule of God, not Hezbollah’s”, Geagea said.

Geagea said that what happened in Meerab last week is not an attack carried out by one person holding a gun, “which proves that the country is insecure”.
