Chairman of the Iranian parliamentary committee for national security and foreign policy, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, arrived in Beirut on Monday for a two-day official visit.
Boroujerdi is expected to meet with Prime Minister Tammam Salam, Speaker Nabih Berri, Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil, a Hezbollah delegation and Palestinian factions in Lebanon.
Upon his arrival Boroujerdi gave his salutes to the Lebanese Army, pointing out to their important role in facing terrorism and Israel.
The high-ranking official noted that national unity in Lebanon will guarantee the country’s safety and stability.
Boroujerdi meets with MP Mohammad Raad
Loyalty to the Resistance bloc MP Mohammad Raad noted that he discussed with Boroujerdi several regional issues, expressing their appreciation for Iran’s role and leadership.
For his part, Boroujerdi said that after five years of war in Syria, the terrorist groups started losing power, which proves the rightness of Iran’s strategic decisions in the region.
