Rai: Church cannot accept calls for violence, hatred

Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai confirmed on Saturday that the church cannot accept any call for violence and hatred, stressing that the Christian Spring is manifested in love, peace, the respect of others and the renounce of violence and war.

During his reception of children on the 20th anniversary of the launching of the “Halleluiah” magazine, Rai highlighted efforts to pass a law at the parliament regarding those deported to Israel.

The patriarch voiced regret that some people still label as agents “those who stood firm in the south during the Israeli occupation and were abandoned by the state.”
