A Palestinian national from the Ain al-Helweh refugee camp surrendered to authorities on Monday.
The man was identified as Mohammad Atta Youssef. He handed himself in to the Internal Security Forces’ Information Branch in Sidon, southern Lebanon.
More than 40 fugitives have so far turned themselves in to the army outside Ain al-Helweh and its environs over the past two months. Many of them are supporters of radical preacher Ahmad al-Assir, while others are Islamists wanted over various cases.
A number of them have been released after insufficient evidence was found to show them connected to crimes.
