Nasrallah: Security in Bekaa must be responsibility of Lebanese state, residents

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah stressed on Saturday the importance of preserving the internal security which, he said, requires “huge efforts.”

Nasrallah’s comments were made during a televised speech delivered to the dignitaries of Baalbek and Hermel whereby he noted that some sides seek to defame the Bekaa region and its residents.

He also added that the Lebanese government, along with the residents of Bekaa, bear the responsibility of preserving peace and security in the region.

“It is not true that poverty is always the reason behind crimes and security chaos,” Nasrallah noted.

On another note, Nasrallah said that celebratory gunfire should end, adding that “cultural and educational efforts must be deployed in order to eradicate such a phenomenon.”
