Boy rescued after trying to commit suicide in Jieh

Civil Defense maritime rescue team managed on Sunday to rescue a 11-year-old Syrian boy identified as Hassan Ahmad Mrad from the sea off the Jieh shore.

The boy is in good health condition and was transferred to the Saaydiat police station to reveal the circumstances behind the incident.

Inside the police station, he complained that he is always beaten by his father which prompted him to threaten that he will commit suicide.

The boy threw himself to the sea but was scared and tried to return to the shore.

Passersby saw him and called the rescue team which managed to rescue him.
