Nasrallah says Aleppo could pave the way for political solutions

Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah made on Friday a televised speech in which he tackled the latest local, regional and International developments.

In his speech, Nasrallah said that the battles that took place in west of Aleppo included tens of thousands of fighters from different nationalities, adding that the money spent in Syria is “huge and amounts to billions of US dollars.”

He also added that what is currently happening in Aleppo does not mean the end of the battle, but rather one of the biggest defeats of the other sides which can pave the way for political solutions.

Hezbollah troops are fighting alongside Syrian government forces against rebels opposed to President Bashar al-Assad's rule, and against Islamic State in Syria.

On another note, Nasrallah said that the top priority of the new cabinet must be the holding of the upcoming parliamentary elections as well as shoulderi8ng its responsibility towards the Lebanese people.

Nasrallah condemned voices accusing Hezbollah of “controlling the country,” adding that the party supports the holding of a comprehensive dialogue over the new vote law.
