Abboud: Expenditure settlement will not be approved by cabinet
Tourism Minister Fadi Abboud confirmed on Wednesday that the cabinet will not approve a settlement over previous years’ expenditures and “violations”, adding that Lebanon will face a major crisis in the event that the president does not sign the 8.9 trillion LBP draft law.

Abboud ruled out the possibility that discussions of the expenditure-related item be postponed, a move unauthorized by the constitution, as he said.

The minister confirmed that the onus is on the president to put forth equations that would place the country on the right track.

In his concluding remarks, Abboud slammed the cabinet’s decision to halt official trips abroad, warning of the repercussions of such a move on the tourism season.
