Future bloc: No cover will be provided to any party that carries weapons

The Future bloc condemned the incidents that rocked the city of Tripoli, stressing that Bab el Tebbaneh and Baal Mohsen residents belong to one family; they are attached to coexistence and they reject fighting, dissidents and plotters.        

Following the bloc’s extraordinary meeting on Tuesday, its president Fouad Siniora said that the arrest of a wanted person in the office of a current minister is closer to an abduction and is very “suspicious”.      

Siniora said that the Future bloc supports the official state bodies, and considers them as the guardians of the law’s implementation away from selectivity. Siniora held the government and the prime minister responsible for any failure or reluctance in the implementation of necessary measures to protect Tripoli and its residents.       

Siniora added that the Future bloc is attached to the path of moderation and tolerance as well as to the state and its institutions. “There will be no coverage for anyone or any party carrying weapons and undermining security, stability and coexistence”, he said.
