EDL administrative board holds special meeting

The administration board of EDL is expected to hold a special meeting in the Ministry of Energy to discuss the current events in the institution.

Earlier, EDL contracted workers threatened to burn the company in Mar Mikhail if any employee stays after 11 o’clock a.m.

For its part, Electricité Du Liban warned the authorities, stressed that the situation has gone out of control and that the company is endangered, calling the employees to leave the company.

On the other hand, the general manager of Electricité Du Liban Kamal Hayek denied, in a statement to LBCI, what has been reported by media about him receiving direct threats.

A source in EDL also told LBCI that the actions have gone beyond just demands and turned into riots, calling security forces to put an end to this situation.
