Environmental crimes in Lebanon are endless and one example is the town of Qartaba in Mount Lebanon.
The pine forests covering the mountains are turned by sand quarries into a desertification project without license or surveillance.
Since three months, these sand quarries have been operating based on a verbal authorization grated by the interior minister.
