Future bloc: Leaders must agree on a new vote law

The future bloc reiterated on Wednesday the importance of agreeing on a new vote law that avoids the country the vacuum at the parliament.

Lebanese leaders are still struggling to agree on a new vote law in time for a Parliament session scheduled for May 15.

Parliamentary elections were first scheduled to take place between May 21 and June 21, however political deadlock is expected to delay polls beyond June.

The bloc’s comments were made during its weekly meeting presided by the bloc head MP Fouad Siniora whereby it condemned the crimes that are committed due to the proliferation of illegal weapons.

It condemned the killing of Sarah Sleiman outside a night club in the Bekaa town of Zahle.

Sarah Sleiman (24 years old) succumbed to wounds she sustained in her face following a shooting outside a night club in Zahle last Sunday.

Another Lebanese citizen identified as Simon Mouawad (33 years old) was injured in his leg during the shooting.
